WHAT WE KNOW FROM EPISODE 2:

  • We open on outie Mark coming to at Devon & Ricken’s house right after his innie screams “She’s alive!” Mark is disoriented and discovers he’s holding a picture of him and Gemma.
  • Back at Lumon after the gala, Helena is confronted by her father, Jame Eagan, who calls her a “fetid moppet.” We also see Dylan walking out of the Lumon lobby with an ice pack on his head while Milchick watches from above.
  • Helena tasks Milchick with doing damage control. When he asks if he should fire them, she tells him to “Let Kier guide [his] hand.” Then, accompanied by security chief Mr. Drummond, Helena meets with Cobel. Helena apologizes for treating her poorly and offers her a promotion to the "Severance Advisory Council" as a reward for her loyalty. But Cobel is insulted that she wasn't offered her old job back.
  • Milchick rides off on his motorcycle to do damage control. First, he goes to see Irving, where Irving lies to Milchick about his whereabouts that night. Then, Milchick goes to see Dylan and tells him that his innie was “involved in a physical altercation with another employee.” Milchick tells both Irving and Dylan that they are fired from Lumon.
  • Meanwhile, Helena films an apology video passing off her outburst at the gala as the result of mixing alcohol with a non-Lumon medication for an arm rash. She ends the video by saying, “I am committed to this company with every part of me. But I’m also just a human, just like my innie and just like you.”
  • INSERT NEW OPENING CREDITS!
  • Back at Devon & Ricken’s house, Mark is trying to make sense of what happened and says he was referencing the baby when he screamed “she’s alive,” but Devon is unconvinced. Milchick knocks on the door, and explains to the group what happened. He tries to convince Mark to return to work, saying “he’d hate to reward his innie’s courage with nonexistence.”
  • We then see Helena watching the footage of her innie leaving to go up the elevator and kissing Mark.
  • Dylan attempts to find a new job at “Great Doors” but is discriminated against for being severed.
  • Mark meets with Devon at Pip’s. He decides to quit, much to the dismay of Devon, who is concerned that Gemma may actually be alive.
  • Then, we see Irving go into a phone booth and place a cryptic call. He leaves a voicemail to an unknown person saying, “I want you to know my innie got the message.” We also see Burt watching him secretly from his car.
  • Milchick visits Mark again and convinces him to return by offering him a hefty pay raise and promises that the happiness his innie receives will trickle back to him. He also tells him that his innie has found love. Mark ends up going back to Lumon.
  • Helena, talking to her inner circle, says that Mark must return to work to finish the "Cold Harbor" file. After hearing Mark's plea to the board, Milchick rehires Dylan and Irving, and the board decides to send Helly R back as well. One by one, we see each member of MDR go down the elevator.
  • In the final scene of the episode, Mark runs into Cobel while returning home from work, demanding answers from her. Blocking her car in the road, he asks her “Do you know something about Gemma?” After a suspiciously long pause, she screams, honks, and speeds off.
