WHAT WE KNOW AFTER EPISODE 9:
- It’s the start of a “momentous day.” Helena does some laps in her indoor pool, then goes to have breakfast while her father, Jame, watches.
- Hardboiled egg “I wish you’d take them raw”
- Is this a sign that Helena won’t be able stomach the cruelty of Cold Harbor
- Helena’s plate shows an ugly baby pulled two ways by someone in red and someone in blue. Also, the egg is split six ways like Gemma’s six rooms.
- “We’re seeing to Mr. Bailiff”
- What are they doing to the water in Kier?
- Hardboiled egg “I wish you’d take them raw”
- Miss Huang completes her Wintertide Fellowship early and is being sent away to Svalbard. She is required to make a material sacrifice, and Milchick chooses her ring toss game. She smashes it with the bust of Jame Eagan.
- Moving her bed to Svalbard - why the whole bed??
- Svalbard is one of the world’s northernmost inhabited areas, known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra.
- I wonder what Harmony had to sacrifice?
- Same head she pulled her notebook out of last episode
- Gretchen confesses to Outie Dylan about her romance with his Innie. In response, Dylan threatens to quit his job. She later confides in Innie Dylan about their fight, tearfully saying goodbye. Heartbroken, Dylan submits a resignation form.
- Dylan’s proposal w/ the finger trap ring :(
- Helly trying to give Dylan purpose by investigating Irving’s instructions
- Dylan seems to resent Milchick for even bringing Gretchen in
- Miss Huang “I’m sorry, Dylan G. I should have facilitated better.”
- Does the elevator take Dylan down??
- His screech! “GRETCHENNN”
- Meanwhile, Burt—revealed to have worked as a Lumon operative, transporting persons of interest—breaks into Irving's apartment and takes him for a drive. They eventually reach a train station, where Burt buys Irving a ticket and says to never come back. The two share their feelings for each other, and Burt sees Irving off.
- Irving was onto Burt
- Burt sacrificing himself for Irving - “Won’t Lumon come after you?”
- iIrving “I’m just not ready” in the plant room; then oIrving “I’m ready” in the train station :(
- John Turturro confirmed in an interview this isn’t the end of Irving’s storyline
- On the day of the Cold Harbor file's expected completion, Mark does not show up to work. Mr. Drummond says it’s Milchick’s fault that he didn’t show up and forces him to apologize. Pushed too far, Milchick tells him to “devour feculence.”
- Milchick: “It’s not my fault what Mark Scout does when he is not at work. It’s yours.”
- Mark and Devon meet with Cobel, who reveals that Gemma will die if Cold Harbor is completed. Mark calls in sick, promising Milchick he will come to work the next day. At night, Cobel and Devon sneak Mark into a Severed cabin at the birthing lodge. Mark's Innie awakens in the cabin, where Cobel is waiting.
- Devon in the car: “Am I me, or am I a copy machine?”
- Cobel: “We’re allies now”
- Cobel: “If you’ve completed it, well, she’s already dead”
- Milchick’s call with Mark - I think he’s turned!!
- Milchick considers the iceberg print on his wall while talking to Mark
- Mark’s turn to ride in the bed of a truck!
- Lore revel: Jame’s affairs
- Cobel looks sinister af in front of that fireplace!
- Another “she’s alive” cliffhanger
- Helly recovers the Exports Hall directions card and spends time memorizing it, but Jame Eagan shows up at MDR.
- “You tricked me. My Helly.” Is he talking about the OTC?
